Overview

Honda Civic is one among the most trustworthy and admired economy compact cars. The 2010 Honda Civic lineup comprises technologically advanced Civic Sedan and Coupe models, a Civic Hybrid, a high-performance Civic Si and a dedicated natural gas-powered Civic GX. Honda refreshed Civic Coupe's inside and out for the 2009 model year with new exterior styling, colors and increased availability of tech-friendly features. For 2010, the entire range of Civics remains largely unchanged. A 2-door, 5-passenger family coupe, the 2010 Honda Civic Coupe is available in DX, LX, EX and EX-L trims.

Power and performance

A responsive 140-horsepower 1.8-liter 16-valve SOHC i-VTEC four-cylinder engine teamed with either a smooth-shifting 5-speed manual is standard on the 2010 Honda Civic Coupe. A compact 5-speed automatic transmission is available. The manual transmission models deliver 26/34/29 and the automatic equipped ones yield 25/36/ 29 mpg city/highway/combined*. The Civic Coupe offers a cargo volume of 11.5 cubic feet.

Body and styling

The 2010 Honda Civic Coupe has been built on a high-rigidity unit-body platform and updated with a revised front grille; new clear turn signals; new front bumper; long, low roofline that enhances aerodynamics; multi-link rear suspension; and three separate air inlets. The new 16-inch alloy wheels on EX and EX-L have minimal gap for a street-ready stance. The inside of the 2010 Honda Civic Coupe is equipped with heated front seats (EX-L), steering wheel-mounted audio controls (EX, EX-L), two-tier instrument panel; a flat rear floor; tachometer; power windows; storage bins; and 12-volt power outlet. New technological features on the Civic Coupe include new USB Audio Interface on the EX and EX-L, optional Honda Satellite-Linked Navigation System with voice recognition and Bluetooth Hands-Free Link.

Safety Features

An array of safety technologies including Advanced Compatibility Engineering (ACE) body structure; side curtain airbags; driver's and front passenger's side airbags with a passenger-side Occupant Position Detection System (OPDS); and dual-stage, dual-threshold driver's and front passenger's airbags (SRS) is standard. Active front seat head restraints are designed to help reduce the likelihood of neck injury in the event of a rear collision. The other features include an anti-lock brake system (ABS) and electronic brake distribution, front seatbelts with an automatic tensioning system, and a pedestrian injury mitigation design incorporated into the front exterior of the vehicle. The EX-L features the Vehicle Stability Assist (VSA), commonly referred to as electronic stability control, as standard safety equipment.
