2026 vs 2027 Honda CR-V: What We Know So Far

Brooklyn shoppers keep asking us the same question this summer: wait for the 2027 CR-V, or buy the 2026 now? Here is what Honda has confirmed, what is still unannounced, and how the trims stack up.

2026 did the heavy lifting

The 2026 CR-V was the mid-cycle refresh. Every trim gained a larger touchscreen, wireless Apple CarPlay and Android Auto, and a wireless charger, even the base LX. Honda also added the TrailSport Hybrid: all-wheel drive, all-terrain tires, blacked-out trim and orange badging.

For 2027, Honda has not issued a full model-year announcement. Car and Driver and MotorTrend both point to a carryover on the same sixth-generation platform, with possible minor styling tweaks and a small price move. No powertrain changes are expected. The 190-hp 1.5-liter turbo and 204-hp two-motor hybrid should both return unchanged.

Bottom line: park a 2026 and a 2027 in the same trim side by side and the real differences will be price, incentives and color availability, not hardware.

Buy the 2026 for the stronger discount. End-of-year inventory is where incentives live, on identical refreshed hardware.
Wait for the 2027 if you need a color or package already sold out locally, or you lease and want the newer year on paper.
