2027 Honda Accord: What We Know So Far

Sedans are supposed to be out of fashion. Nobody told the people driving them here, where a low roofline slips under a clearance bar that stops an SUV, where a smaller footprint means a cheaper monthly space, and where the Accord Hybrid's 48 mpg is earned in exactly the traffic everyone complains about. Below is what is known about the 2027 car and what is still speculation.

A note on 2027 figures. Honda's 2027 Accord order guide is not public yet. Prices and ratings below are the confirmed 2026 specification, which carries over unless Honda announces otherwise. This page is rewritten the week official numbers appear.

What's changing on the 2027 Honda Accord?

Expect a quiet year. The eleventh-generation Accord arrived for 2023 and took North American Car of the Year with it, and Honda has spent the years since adding connected services rather than reworking the car. The 1.5-liter turbo, the two-motor hybrid and the six-trim ladder should all read the same on a 2027 sticker.

The plausible changes sit at the edges: Google built-in and connected-services packaging moving around, a color rotation, and possibly a shift in how many trims Honda offers with the turbo versus the hybrid. Industry watchers generally expect Honda to keep tilting the mix toward hybrids while demand holds, and they place the mid-cycle refresh nearer 2028. None of that is confirmed, and no plug-in Accord has been announced for the US.

When is the 2027 Honda Accord release date?

Honda has not posted a date. Judging by how recent model years have reached this market, first deliveries should land between late 2026 and early 2027, arriving in batches rather than one shipment.

The order rarely varies. LX and SE come first and in volume, because that is where lease programs point. Hybrid trims follow and move fastest once they land — around here the Sport-L and Touring Hybrid in a specific color are what people wait longest for. Telling us the exact build you want before allocation is assigned costs nothing and carries no deposit.

In the meantime the outgoing model year is often the better financial story, because factory support concentrates on cars already on the ground. Lease programs reset monthly, and factory incentives show what is live right now.

Will the 2027 Honda Accord cost more?

Probably, by a modest amount. Honda raises Accord pricing in small annual steps, and a carryover year in this class usually adds one to two percent. Against a 2026 LX at roughly $29,000, that is a few hundred dollars. No 2027 MSRP is official, so treat any precise number circulating now as arithmetic rather than news.

The decision that actually moves your payment is turbo versus hybrid. The 1.5-liter turbo returns around 32 mpg combined; the hybrid reaches 48 in the EX-L. Over a three-year lease driven inside the boroughs, that gap frequently outruns the price difference between an SE and a Sport Hybrid — and the hybrid is also the quieter, smoother car at city speeds.

Your trade is the other lever, and the one people underuse. Midsize sedans have held value better than the coverage suggests, and a current appraisal often covers the step from SE to Sport Hybrid on its own — we buy cars whether or not you buy one from us.

Every Accord trim, compared

Six trims across two powertrains, all front-wheel drive. Figures below are the 2026 specification, which is what a 2027 should mirror absent an announcement. MSRP excludes destination, taxes, title, dealer fees and New York registration.

Accord trims, fuel economy and base MSRP. All figures are 2026 specifications; Honda has not published 2027 pricing. All Accord trims are front-wheel drive.

The EX-L Hybrid row is the one to read twice. It is the most efficient Accord by a clear margin — 48 mpg combined against 44 for the Sport trims — and the reason is simply wheel size. The Sport, Sport-L and Touring ride on larger wheels that cost several mpg. If efficiency is the point of buying a hybrid, the EX-L is the trim that delivers it, and it undercuts both Sport-L and Touring on price.

Powertrains, and what the numbers feel like in traffic

The 1.5-liter turbo makes around 192 horsepower through a CVT and is the value entry. The hybrid pairs a 2.0-liter with two electric motors for roughly 204 horsepower, and the spec sheet undersells it: the motor handles low speed, so pulling away from a light is quiet and immediate rather than waiting on a turbo.

That is also where the efficiency comes from. Hybrids rate higher in the city than on the highway, which is the reverse of a conventional car and backwards from what most people assume. In a crawl up Atlantic or across a bridge approach at rush hour, an Accord Hybrid is barely using its engine. If most of your miles are highway commuting out of the city, the gap narrows and the turbo's lower entry price makes a stronger case.

Space, and why a sedan still works here

The trunk holds roughly 17 cubic feet — more than you get behind the rear seats of most compact SUVs, and deep enough for a stroller laid flat plus a week of groceries. Rear legroom is generous enough that adults sit behind adults without negotiation.

What a sedan gives you here that a crossover does not is height. Older garages in this city have clearance bars, and plenty of buildings have ramps and columns that make a tall vehicle a monthly aggravation. The Accord goes under all of it, parks in shorter spaces, and costs less to store.

Measured against the Accord it replaced

The tenth-generation Accord ran through 2022 and is still common here, so that comparison matters more than the year-to-year one. The current car dropped the 2.0-liter turbo and the manual, and replaced the old hybrid with a far better two-motor system that now covers most of the lineup. The interior changed most: cleaner dash, honeycomb vent strip, a 12.3-inch screen with Google built-in on upper trims. Styling went longer and lower, and Honda Sensing became standard.

The trade-off is straightforward: less outright power at the top of the range, considerably better efficiency across it. Cross-shopping that earlier generation used? Those cars land in our certified pre-owned inventory.

The recognition, briefly

The Accord is one of the most decorated cars in the business. It was named North American Car of the Year for 2023, it has appeared on the Car and Driver 10Best list more times than any other vehicle, and Kelley Blue Book has repeatedly named it a Best Buy in the midsize segment. Recent model years have carried IIHS Top Safety Pick status, though those ratings attach to a specific model year and headlight configuration, so confirm it on the exact car you are considering. The Accord also places high on the Cars.com American-Made Index.

Resale is the recognition that reaches your bank statement: residual values set lease payments, so a car that holds value quietly leases for less before anyone starts negotiating.

What makes it work here

Height first, because it is the advantage nobody mentions. Clearance bars in older garages, low ceilings in underground lots and tight ramp geometry all favor a sedan, and the monthly rate usually does too — garages price by size class, and the gap between brackets in this city can rival a car payment.

Then the hybrid math. Most efficiency advantages evaporate in city driving; this one grows. If your weeks are short trips, school runs and crawling arterials, an Accord Hybrid spends much of its time on electric power, and the fuel bill reflects it.

Then the driving itself. The Accord is quiet at the speeds this city runs at, turns tighter than most crossovers, and sees out well enough that parallel parking is a non-event. Honda Sensing is standard on every trim, and adaptive cruise alone removes real strain from a slow crawl.

Worth saying plainly: there is no all-wheel-drive Accord. With good all-season or winter tires it handles this city fine, but if all-wheel drive is non-negotiable, the conversation moves to a CR-V. Want the same idea a size smaller and cheaper? The Civic is the one to drive.

Compare the whole segment on one block

Plaza Honda belongs to Plaza Auto Mall, family-owned on Nostrand Avenue: five new-vehicle brands, a certified pre-owned program behind each, and a multibrand used operation handling makes we do not sell new — over 1,000 vehicles in stock, everything within a seven-minute walk.

That layout turns a weekend of shopping into an afternoon. Drive the Accord, then walk to the Toyota Camry, the Hyundai Sonata and the Kia K5 — the three cars almost every Accord shopper here also drives. Acura of Brooklyn sits on the same block for something more premium.

Settle the money before you sit down. Our pre-approval asks for no Social Security number and no date of birth, and hands back a real payment range without touching your credit.

Then layer on what is live. Lease programs reset monthly and frequently stack with factory incentives, and an early trade appraisal often funds the walk from SE to a hybrid trim on its own.

Frequently asked questions

Is the 2027 Accord redesigned?

No indication of it. The current generation launched for 2023 and has been receiving additions rather than a rewrite, with industry reporting placing the mid-cycle refresh nearer 2028. Anticipate packaging and color adjustments for 2027.

Has Honda released 2027 Accord pricing?

No. Nothing official exists as of early September 2026. The 2026 LX sits near $29,000 before destination, and a carryover year historically adds one to two percent, so budget around that until the order guide publishes.

Which Accord is the most fuel-efficient?

The EX-L Hybrid, at roughly 51 city, 44 highway and 48 combined. It beats the Sport, Sport-L and Touring hybrids because it rides on smaller wheels, and it costs less than two of them. If efficiency is why you want a hybrid, that is the trim.

Turbo or hybrid — which makes more sense in the city?

Hybrid, for most people driving inside the boroughs. It rates 44 to 48 mpg combined against 32 for the 1.5-liter turbo, and the advantage is largest in exactly the stop-and-go that dominates here. If your miles are mostly highway, the gap narrows and the turbo's lower entry price makes a stronger case.

Does the Accord come with all-wheel drive?

No. Every Accord trim is front-wheel drive. With good all-season or dedicated winter tires it handles New York conditions without drama, but if all-wheel drive is a requirement, the CR-V is the closest Honda alternative.

How big is the Accord's trunk?

Roughly 17 cubic feet, which is more than you get behind the rear seats of most compact SUVs. Deep enough for a folded stroller laid flat with a full grocery run beside it, and the hybrid trims do not give up trunk space to battery packaging.

Is there still a manual or a 2.0-liter turbo Accord?

No. Both left with the previous generation in 2022. The current lineup is the 1.5-liter turbo and the two-motor hybrid, both with automatic transmissions. If you want a manual Honda, the Civic Si and Type R are where to look.

Can I claim a 2027 Accord before it lands?

Yes. Give us the trim, powertrain and color and we will match you against the first arriving allocation — no deposit, no obligation. Worth doing early for hybrid trims, which are the fastest to leave once they arrive.

I live outside Brooklyn. Does that complicate anything?

Not really. Purchased vehicles deliver free within 25 miles, which reaches all five boroughs plus much of Nassau and southern Westchester. Service pickup and drop-off covers the whole NYC metro area, and our staff works across fifteen-plus languages.

What is Plaza Auto Mall?

The family-owned group Plaza Honda is part of, on Nostrand Avenue. Five new-vehicle franchises — Honda, Acura, Toyota, Kia and Hyundai — each with its own certified pre-owned program, all inside a seven-minute walk, with more than 1,000 vehicles in stock between them.

Do you stock used vehicles beyond those five brands?

Yes. Our multibrand used operation carries makes we do not sell new, so a used Altima, Malibu or Passat can sit alongside a certified Accord. The group used inventory shows everything currently available.
