Take the Major Deegan or the Grand Concourse south to the Willis Avenue Bridge, which is free, then the FDR Drive south to the Brooklyn Bridge, also free. Come off at Tillary Street, pick up Flatbush Avenue and follow it south to Nostrand Avenue. Roughly 45–60 minutes, and you do not pay a cent in tolls.

The quicker one: RFK Bridge and the BQE

From the south and central Bronx, the RFK (Triborough) Bridge onto the BQE and south to Atlantic Avenue or Flatbush Avenue is usually the fastest run. There is a toll at the RFK, but it often saves fifteen minutes over the free crossings. About 35–50 minutes.

From the east Bronx: Throgs Neck or Whitestone to the Belt

From Riverdale & Kingsbridge

Henry Hudson Parkway south along the West Side, then across on Chambers Street or Park Row to the Brooklyn Bridge and down Flatbush Avenue. Or cut east to the Deegan and use the Willis Avenue Bridge instead. Both land you on the same stretch of Flatbush.
