Directions from Coney Island to Plaza Honda

We are at 2740 Nostrand Avenue, Brooklyn, NY 11210, between Kings Highway and Avenue R — roughly five miles northeast of the boardwalk. No bridge, no tunnel, no toll, no borough line.

The straight one: Coney Island Avenue

Pick up Coney Island Avenue at Brighton Beach and run it north to Kings Highway, then turn east and go about a mile and a half to Nostrand. Usually 15 to 20 minutes outside of rush hour.

From Sea Gate & the West End: Ocean Parkway

Surf Avenue east to Ocean Parkway, north to Kings Highway, then east to Nostrand. Add five to ten minutes in summer, when Surf and Neptune slow to a crawl on weekends.

The parkway route: Cropsey to the Belt

Take Cropsey Avenue to the Belt Parkway eastbound, then exit at Flatbush Avenue (Exit 11N). Head north on Flatbush and turn left onto Nostrand Avenue. Fastest when Ocean Parkway is backed up.

From Sheepshead Bay: Nostrand Avenue itself

Nostrand Avenue starts down by Emmons Avenue. Get on it and drive north about two and a half miles — one street, no turns, and we are on the right past Avenue R.

Getting here by bus and train

The B82 runs east along Kings Highway from Stillwell Avenue and crosses Nostrand Avenue a short walk from our door — one bus, no transfer. From the Brighton line, take the Q to Kings Highway and pick up the same B82 eastbound. From Sheepshead Bay, the B44 runs the length of Nostrand Avenue and stops on our block.
